Privacy Policy

TaxCalculatorApp.com is a free take-home pay calculator. It works entirely in your
browser and never asks for your name, email, or any account.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage data. To improve the tool, the site records the scenario
numbers entered (income amounts, state, filing options, tax year) and interface
interactions (which states and features are clicked), tagged with a random per-visit
identifier. This data contains no names, email addresses, or account information, and
the collection code does not receive or store IP addresses.
- Local preferences. Your color-theme choice is stored in your own browser
(localStorage) and never leaves your device.
What we don't collect
No accounts, no names, no email addresses, no advertising identifiers set by us, no
cross-site tracking. Calculations happen in your browser — results are not tied to you.
Third-party services
- GitHub Pages hosts the site and, like all web hosts, keeps standard server
logs. See GitHub's privacy statement.
- Google Apps Script / Google Sheets receives and stores the anonymous usage
data described above.
- Affiliate links. Some outbound links (marked in the "Smart next moves"
section) are affiliate links — if you sign up for a service through one, we may earn a
commission at no extra cost to you. Partner sites have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can use the calculator without entering real numbers, and clearing your browser
storage removes the theme preference and session identifier. To request deletion of
usage records, contact us with the approximate date and state/amounts used.
Not tax advice
All results are educational estimates, not tax, legal, or financial advice.
